Etsy

I am always on Etsy looking for good finds.  I usually find a few things I want/need but never really purchase, but I am SO glad I bought these adorable bibs.  Super cute and really soft.  Perfect.

MIND, BODY, SOUL, AND, OF COURSE, SURFING

I have known of Laird Hamilton for many years.  Recently I read a book about his perspective on life that gave me a new found respect for the guy.  Laird is one of the best big wave surfers and definitely the greatest waterman of our time.  Many know him as husband of model/volleyball player Gabrielle Reece, but to me he is a physical and mental freak of nature who has mastered a mind over mater lifestyle.
In this book, Laird Hamilton: Force of Nature, he writes about overcoming fear, negativity, cultivating instincts, clean eating, goal setting and living your life to the fullest, just to name a few.  I highly recommend this inspirational book.

Carolina

I LOVE Charleston, South Carolina!  I flew in to meet my Uncle and Aunt to visit my cousin at Army Basic Training.  Before we could meet up with him, we had an extra day to hang out so we decided to walk around Charleston.  It is such a great city with a ton of history, awesome architecture and delicious food.  I highly recommend visiting this city.

Creative Juices

My creative juices have been flowin' lately.  I've been searching high and low for a decently priced headboard for the longest time.  I am torn between buying an expensive one that I will force myself to keep for a long time and a less expensive one that I can replace a few years down the road when I decide to redecorate.  I was watching the Nate Berkus Show this am and was impressed with how much furniture he decorates/makes on his own.  It made me realize that I could just MAKE our headboard.  It will be a fraction of the price and I can just replace the fabric when I get bored with the pattern instead of feeling guilty that I want to buy an expensive new one every so often.

So, I will be using this tutorial and still need to narrow down the pattern I want.  Here are a few that I think I like so far.

Fabric stores and Home Depot, here I come!
