Carolina

I LOVE Charleston, South Carolina!  I flew in to meet my Uncle and Aunt to visit my cousin at Army Basic Training.  Before we could meet up with him, we had an extra day to hang out so we decided to walk around Charleston.  It is such a great city with a ton of history, awesome architecture and delicious food.  I highly recommend visiting this city.

Creative Juices

My creative juices have been flowin' lately.  I've been searching high and low for a decently priced headboard for the longest time.  I am torn between buying an expensive one that I will force myself to keep for a long time and a less expensive one that I can replace a few years down the road when I decide to redecorate.  I was watching the Nate Berkus Show this am and was impressed with how much furniture he decorates/makes on his own.  It made me realize that I could just MAKE our headboard.  It will be a fraction of the price and I can just replace the fabric when I get bored with the pattern instead of feeling guilty that I want to buy an expensive new one every so often.

So, I will be using this tutorial and still need to narrow down the pattern I want.  Here are a few that I think I like so far.

Fabric stores and Home Depot, here I come!

It's a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

I have been going on long walks around my neighborhood lately and today I decided to take my camera along with me.  I've noticed that there are so many cute little shops right in my very own backyard.  I was going along my merry little way, took one picture of a hidden gem called Miss Jeanies, and then stopped by Dunkin' Donuts since its at the end of my walk and close to home.  When I walked in I noticed that Wally, the Red Sox mascot, was greeting people coming in and out of the shop.  On my way out, I was stopped and asked if I was a Red Sox fan.  I politely said "No, I am an Angels fan."  The woman then asked "Well, did you at least order an iced coffee?"  I said yes and she continued to tell me that for doing so, I had won two free Red Sox tickets for the game tonight!  How cool!  I never win anything like that so I am so excited.
Since I was completely distracted by this had forgotten what I initially set out to do..take pictures of places in the neighborhood.  So, for now, I leave you with Miss Jeanies and my ticket win!

Miss Jeanies is a local catering company.   I haven't been inside yet but I think the outside is so cute.

Lookin' Good Number 3!

Last night I went to watch my sister play volleyball at her school, Saint Anselm College.  I love watching her play.  She is full of energy and celebrates every point, a few traits I was sometimes lacking while playing.  I was strictly business and she remembers to relax and have fun.  It's sad to admit that I think this was the first time I brought my camera along to take pictures of her.  While doing so, I quickly learned that it is hard to take pictures while watching a game, so please forgive any blurriness.

Good game Marg!

Missoni

How did everyone do at the Missoni for Target opening?!!

I am so lame.  I have been waiting months for this line to come out and of course I completely forgot until I started getting texts from people asking me if I got anything good.  DARN IT!  I have loved Missoni's zig-zag/chevron pattern for years and now it seems like everywhere I look, BAM, there it is.

Also, in case you haven't already, please contact me to schedule family photo shoots.  Slots are already booking up fast :)

Tis the Season

I'm back!  Summer is always a great time to relax and enjoy the company of family and friends, and I did just that.  So many great times and so many memories made, but now it's time to start thinking of what is ahead, like, THE HOLIDAYS!!  I love summer, but there really is nothing like fall in New England.
The cooling weather is also a painful reminder that after fall comes the dreaded cold winter.  I actually don't really mind winter because there is something about a fresh snowfall that is so refreshing and also romantic.  PLUS, it means CHRISTMAS time!!!!

It's time to start thinking about your holiday cards.  Please contact me if you are interested in taking family pictures to send to your loved ones.  I look forward to talking to YOU.
