Kids Snacks can be for Adults too!

I recently got a new phone, mainly because my camera on the old was broken and I had been managing without it for many months.  I finally got to see all of the pictures found some classics.
I came across one that made my mouth water.  About a year ago I made some creative kids snacks with some kids I was babysitting and I remember enjoying it so much, and now my pregnant self just has to have it...I've been addicted to bananas lately.

Caterpillar Banana from the "Creative Snacks" book.

All you need:
- Banana
- Stick pretzels
- Peanut Butter
- Coconut flakes
- Raisins
Hopefuly the picture explains how you should put it all together :)

DIY Thank You Cards: Paper Source

I can't really take full credit for making these "Thank You" cards because I bought a kit from Paper Source that had all of the envelopes, cards, trimmings, and scraps that were pretty much all color coordinated.  I felt like I was totally cheating so I took everything out of the box and mixed it all together to force creativity on myself.  It's so easy to just go to a store and pick out a card, but its so much more fun to make them yourself (if you have the time.)  Well, at least I think so.  Next time, no kit :)

DIY: Nursery Rocker

I recently bought an old rocking chair from a thrift store and gave it a simple face lift before I put it in the babies room.  I was really torn between buying an expensive rocker/glider or making a little work for myself in finding something at a thrift store that I could fix up.  I went with the thrift store option and luckily I found a rocking chair that needed very little TLC, just a little sandpaper and some spray paint.  I'm so glad I did this because it was so cheap ($50 for rocker and $10 for 2 cans of paint... already had a sander) and I feel like I added more of a personal touch to the room.  It feels like time is flying by so fast and this baby will be here so soon.  I'm glad I pretty much have the nursery done so I don't have to worry about it last minute.  I still have some finishing touches to do after baby is born for gender specific decorations and my brother, Conlan, is making me a bookshelf!  Although, I should probably double check on that with him...college students aren't so trustworthy :)

So far.  Should have probably moved the tub mat from under the crib before I took this...oh well.

Feeling Orange

Today, Aaron got vacation time for next year, so it looks like we will be headed to CA in June!  I am hoping the thought of us (all three of us) being under the warm CA sun will get me through the cold MA winter.  I guess I have a few other things to keep me happy and excited during the winter this year:)
When I think of summer I think of bright warm colors, like the color orange.  Orange can really add character to a dull room or brighten up an outfit.

What color do you like to add to a dull space or outfit?
