On the Coffee Table

By the end of the week, my coffee table has accumulated everything I am interested in and loving at the moment.  This weekend, while I was tidying up and putting everything away, I realized I should share what my favorite things on the coffee table are.  So here they are, my must-haves of the week.

This lipstick is great for people like me who want to take part in the Orange color trend in a subtle way.

3.  SEASONAL FRUIT Blood Oranges

I have been dying for this skirt ever since I saw it on one of my favorite websites.

5. WATER FOR ELEPHANTS Borders Books
I haven't started this yet, but I've heard from so many people that it's amazing.  Can't wait to start it!

6.  MAGAZINE Women's Health
This is the best magazine EVER.  Great tips for eating, working out, health, and even fashion.

I could get used to this...

I had a four day weekend this weekend and I must say, I could really get used to having more of them!  My house is clean, I went shopping,  I bought groceries,  the laundry is done, the house is organized,  I got to see my sister, my camera is full of new pictures, I was able to have brunch with my husband on Sunday (this never happens), and I have a new flower arrangement on the coffee table.

I went to the market and picked up some flowers in an attempt to make my own flower arrangement.  Usually, when I buy them already made I pick half of the leaves off and pull out some of the other little flowers, so I decided to do it myself since I had a lot of extra time today.  I was so overwhelmed at the market and stood in front of the flowers for about 15 minutes, and when I felt like people were looking at me wondering why I kept scanning over everything without picking any out, I just grabbed.  I ended up buying pink hydrangeas and cream roses.

The finished product.  I'm not sure if I have a future in flower arranging, but I had fun trying.

Design Using Less Dimes

I have been wanting to buy this amazing head board from Serena & Lily, but I can't decide on the color/pattern so I figured I could put some of our wedding pictures up to fill the void for now.  I didn't really feel like spending a fortune on three nice frames since I know I eventually want the headboard.  So, I decided to just buy the $4.99 frame inserts from Michaels to create the illusion that the pictures were in frames.  That price sure beat the $50 per each frame I was thinking of getting.  Aaron aren't you proud of me!!??  It turned out to be a fun little Saturday morning project.  Have a great weekend everyone!

Looking a little boring in the before shot.

I put double sided tape onto the picture and then placed the frame on top.

After.  Much better!

German Blues

Ok, I don't know what they're feeding them in Germany, but seriously, how do you get eyes like this?!  I couldn't stop taking close up portrait shots of these girls because they are so beautiful and their eyes are crazy!  Anyways, like I said in an earlier post, I went with these two into Boston to help them capture moments of their time here in America.  A and S came here from Germany to work and go to school. They're both leaving at the end of summer and taking back with them great friendships and many memories.

We started the day off at the Riverside T Station and from there we headed into Boston and stopped at Copley.

I'm not sure what it is about this picture, but it's my favorite.  I think its something about her face.  It has this amazing vintage look to it,  I think.

A and S are obsessed with Startbucks and I can't resist it either so we stopped for a little pick me up and then headed to the most beautiful church with amazing old wooden doors that I loved.

From Copley we went to the Boston Common and finished the day up in the North End.

Thanks for all of the fun girls!

Taco Bar, Sneak Peek, and Catholics vs. Catholics

We ended our weekend with family and a delicious taco dinner.  I had a few extra mouths to feed for Sunday dinner so I thought it would be easiest to make tacos.  My mom makes the best Mexican food so I try to master her creations to remind me of being home.  Plus, I like to think Conlan and Margaret enjoy when I bring some of Mom's cooking to the East Coast.  I set up a little Taco Bar in the kitchen for everyone to help themselves.

Conlan and his girlfriend Taylor are on Spring Break this week so they spent the weekend with us.  I love when they are here.  Taylor and I usually find some way to entertain ourselves while the boys sit on the couch and do whatever it is they do.  All we were missing was Margaret!...And of course the other West Coasters :)

I was so tired Sunday because I was constantly on the go all weekend.  Saturday was especially tiring because I spent all day walking the streets of Boston taking pictures.  My two friends from Germany, who are only here for a few months longer, wanted some pictures taken of them around the city that they could take home to show family and friends and to remember their time spent here.  It was a lot of fun and made me realize how beautiful Boston is.  Below are a few pictures I took.  I can't wait to finish editing the rest.  Hopefully they will be up by the weekend.

So much fun!

Last but not least, the MERRIMACK HOCKEY team has made it to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1988.  So amazing!  I am so excited for the team and for the school.  They will be playing NOTRE DAME this Saturday at 7:30 in Manchester, NH.  I'm so bummed I won't me able to make it, but I will be watching from my computer at espn3.com.  GO WARRIORS!

Pastries and Bubbles

Yesterday, my brother Conlan met me in the North End to hang out for a bit while I was finishing up a shoot.  It was such a long day and it was nice to see him.  Neither of us had been to the famous Mike's Pastry, so we waited in the long line for a little treat.  It's always nice to hang out with Conlan and have some brother/sister bonding time.

Let's not be too critical of how tired and disheveled I look.  It was a long day people!

I asked Con to smile for a picture and as always he made this sarcastic smile.  Makes me laugh every time.

The line at Mike's Pastry is always SO long, but we learned that it's well worth the wait!

Good times.

Oh, and also, does anyone know where I can find these glass ball decorations?  I saw them on display at Jack Wills on Newbury Street and I loved them.

I'm not sure what I am going to do with them, but I want them!

J and R's little surprise

I did a shoot with these boys for their Mom's birthday.  We went to a little bell tower in Wellesley, MA, and they had so much fun running around and exploring.  It was so sweet how J and R wanted to do something nice for their mom.  I hope she enjoys these pictures!

Happy Birthday.
